Friday
Lake Barkley Chamber of Commerce members were treated to an appearance by former University of Kentucky basketball star Cameron Mills at their monthly mixer held on Monday at Lifeline Home Health Care Center in Eddyville.
Mills was kept busy signing autographs and describing what it was like to be part of two national championship teams while at UK. Since his playing days ended, Mills has devoted himself to the ministry, speaking engagements, and working as a marketing consultant for Lifeline’s parent company, LHC group in Lexington.
Mills continues to be a big UK fan and gets to keep close contact with the team through his UK radio show. He is particularly impressed with this year’s team and the leadership shown by senior Darius Miller. He is hopeful that this year’s team can match the accomplishments of his 1996 and 1998 teams and win a national championship.
The Lake Barkley Chamber of Commerce hosts monthly mixers to offer its members a chance to get together in an informal atmosphere to visit and share ideas. To learn more about becoming a Chamber member, call 388-4769.
